Quanto sono importanti i link no follow per la SEO?

Diciamo che come spesso accade per il mondo dell’ottimizzazione, trovare una risposta unica e chiara a questa domanda è praticamente impossibile. Anche perché le uniche persone ad avere ben chiara la situazione sono i pochi ingegneri che conoscono bene i misteri dell’algoritmo di Google.
Quindi, in questo caso, a parlare è solo l’esperienza.

Personalmente ritengo che esistano tre valutazioni diverse da attribuire ai tre possibili collegamenti in entrata al tuo sito:

Le menzioni, di cui mi sono occupato in questo articolo, hanno un’importanza che potremmo classificare, su una scala da 0 a 10, in 3-4. Nonostante infatti non abbiano un collegamento diretto, nel significato più arcaico del termine, le menzioni aiutano a far “conoscere” il tuo sito al motore di ricerca, facilitandone contestualizzazione e conseguente posizionamento in SERP.

I link follow (o do follow) sono il vero tesoro del web. In questo caso, in relazione anche al sito nel quale sono ospitati, parliamo di un’importanza da 6 a 10: immaginate di gestire il sito di una casa editrice e di essere linkati da Wikipedia o dal sito del Miur, non male direi.

Infine abbiamo i link no follow, che sebbene in possesso dell’attributo che “vieta” allo spider di seguirli, rappresentano comunque un’informazione aggiuntiva non indifferente. Mi spiego. Si tratta di una via di mezzo tra menzioni e do follow quindi, oltre che chiarire il contesto nel quale viene citato un determinato sito internet, danno una traccia dell’url di riferimento che non può essere del tutto ignorata da Google. Non solo, ma essendo no follow, tali link possono anche essere inseriti in siti dalla “scarsa reputazione” in quanto non determinano il profilo backlink.

Detto questo, ho proceduto in due miei progetti alla creazione di una rete di collegamenti no follow che, nei miei piani, dovrebbe permettere un miglioramento del posizionamento per long tail keywords di due siti.
